Who is Maria Montessori?

Dr. Montessori (1870-1952)  was Italy's first woman physician. She was a scientist with an inquiring mind and developed her teaching methods based on a scientific approach of observation and experimentation. 

She was the first woman enrolled in an engineering school, which broke gender barrier roles at the time. 

Dr. Montessori initially carried out her study of children and education at the Casa dei Bambini or Children's House.

Montessori education soon spread all over the world.

 

Dr. Montessori believed in the great potential of children and designed her program to help each child achieve success. Dr. Montessori is the author of multiple books.
